OOTD: 2/7/13 - In the Winners Circle

Sweater: J Crew Jackie Pullover, sz. small
Skirt: J Crew Sterling Skirt, sz. 2
Bag: LV Evora
Necklace: random eBay

Shoot!--lame photographer that I am, I managed to cut of my feet in most of my pictures. Usually I wouldn't mention it (because why draw attention to such an amateur mistake) but the shoes that I was wearing were really, really cute! Really!

I stumbled upon them at Amazon (one of my favorite places to find good deals on shoes) and fell in love. The print reminds me of a Liberty print. J Crew has a few Liberty print shoes this season, but apparently I'm not drinking enough of the Crewlade lately to want to pay what they're asking. In fact, I've never really seen the allure with J Crew heels. Overpriced, uncomfortable, and too high of a heel for practical wear. Bah.

Anyway, these BC Footwear shoes are no where near the price range of the J Crew ones. Fine with me though. The heel is a lot lower too (only 2"). Since I stand on my feet for 6+ hours a day lecturing that's more  in my comfort zone as well. Materials are all man-made, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with a printed fabric shoe if it's a cute one. I normally wear an 8.5 in most brands, and that's what I took in this shoe. Very comfortable. No pinching, rubbing. Plenty of room in the toe box, and a surprising amount of padding and cushioning in the footbed.

They were such a steal, I justified to myself I could snag the black floral colorway as well:

Overkill on printed floral pumps? Maybe. But I have such a hard time finding cute, comfy heels that are 2"  or under, that when I do find an illusive pair, I usually by it in multiples. Since I was able to find both colorways for under $40, I figured it wasn't offending the 'Sensible Shopping gods' too much.

  1. That mint skirt is stunning! I have the blazer version of it (Hacking Jacket) but I have yet to wear it.

  2. I love them! I rarely buy heels anymore bc I don't wear them all that often anymore, but these heels are doable for me. Your skirt is so pretty too!

  3. I have this mint Sterling skirt, but have yet to wear it. I don't want it to look overly dressy, so I was a little stumped by what to pair it with. Great idea with the stripes, I'll do this. I'm also loving the pairing of stripes with florals. Super-cute shoes!

    1. Thanks! Oh, yes, I was worried the Sterling would look too fancy for just a day of teaching too, but I think the color helps it be more causal and playful, than seriuos and business.
