OOTD: 2/27/13

Sweater: J Crew Jackie Cardi, sz. Small
Tee: J Crew stripe Vintage tee, sz. XS
Jeans: Loft Factory denim trousers, sz. 0
Shoes: Pour La Victorie
Bag: LV Evora

Ok, not the most inspiring of outfits, I suppose. But everyone has a blah, uninspired day now and then, right?
Hey, at least I match. Super match. My shoes are the exact same two colors as my tee and sweater.  And when I realized that, I was really happy about it-- probably overly so.

I know that wearing things too matchy-matchy can tend to look over-planned and contrived, but I honestly didn't notice at first. Husband was the one who brought it to my attention. He said, "oooh, nice outfit. Everything matches--even your shoes. You did that on purpose, right?"  That last part is a question because Husband has learned to never assume when it comes to my outfits or combinations. I've changed my own rules so many times he sometimes gets afraid to comment. Lets just say he had a very hard time when pattern mixing became popular...... "Stripes and flowers together? That's what you intended, right?"  Cute man.

  1. Great outfit- and nothing wrong with matching sometimes. I like those shoes.

    1. Thanks! Sometimes it feels like the trends are pressuring us to try all these weird color combos together. It makes me cringe-- I don't care who says it works, black and navy or brown and black shouldn't go! Sometimes it's just nice to be matchy-matchy!

  2. Oooh. I love everything about this outfit. EVERYTHING!!! What color is your cardigan? Is it a reddish brown? Or a brownish red?

    1. Thanks! J Crew calls the color 'Rustic Twig'. Not sure if that helps with color. I'd say it leans towards a dusty pink/redish brown. I almost treat it as a brown-ish pink sometimes too! It's one of those weird colors that makes J Crew so great!

  3. Wow! You look so beautiful in these fall colors! Honestly, that was my first thought when I opened this page. Definitely, not blah and uninspired.

Funny how we girls can be so hard on ourselves. I love your classic styles with a twist. ;-)

    1. It took some looking up, but it's called 'Rustic Twig'. I think it was from Summer/Fall 2011. It's one of those weird colors that can read different depending on what it's paired with, I think.

I'd love to hear your thoughts! That said, please remember to be kind, and don't say anything your mother would not approve of!
